One small thing I did to bring more joy into my life.

Can I let you in a little secret? I’ve been feeling like a bit of a hypocrite, talking about how amazing a regular gratitude practice is when it comes to building happiness and joy in our lives because I haven’t been cultivating a regular practice for myself in years. Actually, the last time I did anything related to gratitude was when I was launching Project: Miracles. And that was over 3 years ago. So I kicked myself in the ass and cracked open a fresh journal to begin cultivating gratitude in my life again. I’ve already noticed a shift in how I’m experiencing things and am far more open to finding...

Is a daily gratitude practice all that it’s cracked up to be?

What can a regular gratitude practice do for you?

THEY say that a regular gratitude practice can transform your life. Gratitude can trigger a positive feedback loop, meaning the more positive things you think about and experience, the more positive things you think about and experience. Gratitude has the same benefits of meditation (which we already know is extensive), particularly when done regularly. In other words, the more you do it, the more beneficial it becomes. Gratitude improves the quality of our relationships. Mostly because people who practice gratitude are happier, nicer, and generally more positive people. And now, it’s time for a transition.

Lovelies! Thank you for the most amazing emails and feedback on the podcast. It has been an amazing week and I’m really proud of everything that we’ve been doing. We even got our first 5-star review (!!). When I posted last week, I hinted at some big changes coming to the blog and the newsletter. Changes that I’m incredibly excited about. And while this change may not come as a surprise to some, it’s something that I’ve been fighting for over a year. Fighting, because I was afraid to give up everything I had spent years building. But the disconnect has continued to build and the resentment continued to grow. So I quietly...

I’ve been cooking up something new!

Hello, lovely! I know it’s been a while since I’ve written. And there have been a few reasons for my absence, including a new project I’ve been working on and putting a lot of my energy (and free time) into. What is it, you ask? A podcast. That’s what. For the past two years, I’ve talked about starting one. I even went so far as to buy a professional microphone last year because I told myself IT. WAS. TIME. And then promptly let it collect dust on the bookshelf in my office. (Heh.) Turns out, I just needed to find the right co-host. I’m excited to be partnering on this...

7 Pasta Recipes That Will Make You Queen of the Kitchen

If I could eat pasta every single day of the week for the rest of my life, I would. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ve tried. That undying love for the deliciously doughy and soul-satisfying noodle is the exact reason I wanted my first non-smoothie recipe collection to be all about pasta. In my single lady days, I was known to eat pasta for lunch and dinner for the better part of a week. It was cheap and easy, fitting nicely into my grad student lifestyle. Now that I’m a bona-fide adult, cooking for a husband and toddler, I’ve had to use my noodle (ha!) to expand my horizons and make something other than spaghetti...
