Iiiiiiiiiiit’s smoothie time!

What? You thought we were officially done with the smoothie recipes? Yeah right. You’ll have to pry my smoothie cup from my cold dead hands.

This recipe is courtesy of Trader Joe’s having the most amazing cherries and nectarines on hand. You know, those big 5 lb boxes of nectarines that are so sweet and juicy and dribble down your chin amazing and are pretty much delicious on every single thing you can come up with.

I will say that this one is a little on the time intensive side due to having to pit the cherries. If time is of the essence, I’d suggest you get a bag of frozen cherries because the work will be done for you.

 

Which wouldn’t be a bad idea even if you aren’t time-pressed.

You know what WOULD be a bad idea? Not making this cherry nectarine smoothie.

I have to admit, besides being absolutely nom-worthy, it’s also beautiful.

I know. I’m weird. I eat with my eyes 99% of the time. I have a really hard time getting on board with things that are muddy, brown, and completely BLAH looking. So I definitely appreciate a pretty looking drink.

And this drink is pretty damn pretty.

Cherry Nectarine Smoothie

A pretty delicious and deliciously pretty breakfast treat for you and yours. And if you're in a pinch for time, try using frozen cherries in place of the fresh.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup cherries pitted
  • 1 nectarine pit removed and sliced up
  • 1/2 cup frozen banana chunks
  • 1/3 cup grape juice or water
  • 1 tbs chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in blender and blend on high speed until smooth.
  2. Pour into cup and enjoy!
