We either make ourselves miserable or strong.

“We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.” Carlos Castaneda

Have you ever noticed that some people go through a situation and come out of it stronger, wiser, and more motivated than ever?

And the next day or week, you see another person going through the same thing and they are completely and utterly miserable. Cursing the world for their bad luck, blaming themselves for an inherent flaw, and just getting more down and depressed with every second.

I have witnessed far too many of these scenarios in the past month to think that this quote by Carlos Castaneda showing up in my life was anything but intentional.

We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.

My only response is this: A. MEN.

Next time you are faced with a situation that has the potential to make you miserable (which is daily, right?!), think about what you can learn from it instead. Even if that learning amounts to knowing that you are strong enough to survive.
