Chocolate Avocado Pudding

Chocolate avocado pudding. Also known as chocamole (i.e.—chocolate guacamole). Also known as the best damn dessert (that’s actually good for you) on the planet.

Even The Hubster liked it. And y’all know how he feels about chocolate, right?

Did I mention that it’s drool-inducingly delicious? And that you’re going to want to make a double (or triple) batch, pronto?

I am already annoyed that we ran out of maple syrup during the first batch, and have had to survive a tortuous two days without it. TORTUOUS, I TELL YOU.

And I seriously wish I could take credit for this dessert masterpiece. But, alas. I cannot. It came from the annals of Out to Lunch Creations. Jesse was kind enough to give me permission to repost the recipe (in full) here.

Chocolate Avocado Pudding
Prep time: 
Total time: 
Serves: 4-6
  • 1 avocado
  • 3 tbs cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbs milk (almond, coconut, soy, cow)
  1. Combine all ingredients into a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend well until smooth.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  4. Enjoy!

    This really is my favorite thing on the planet! I was introduced by my friend Leah in my food swap. I have also seen a version with it sweetened with bananas instead of maple syrup. I’m going to give that a try sometime! I’ve also wondered if it would be any good frozen. Mmm….

    This is absolutely, incredibly delicious!!! My husband does not like avocados but I think he’s going to like them now! Can’t wait for him to come home from work for this little treat! I will let you know what he thinks of it once he tries it. Thank you so much for sharing this fabulous secret!

        Haha! Once my husband started to eat the avocado chocolate pudding, I asked him if he liked it and his reply was, “Mmm, yeah it’s good!”, then I asked “want to know what’s in it?” He said “well, there’s something bitter, like guacamole in it.” WHAT???!!! I can’t believe it he detected the avocado. :) But he still liked it, he had two helpings. What a funny guy! Thanks again for the recipe.
