Fresh “Green” Juice

Now, y’all know that when I get into something, I get into something.

Case in point, refrigerator oats.

My new thing: juicing. And this juice—a hearty blend of kale, spinach, romaine, cucumber, green apple, and lemon—is the one that started it all. Not exactly the first juice that I would have thought could convert me. But, sure enough, it did.

Color me shocked that it was sweet and refreshing.

The Hubster, on the other hand, told me that it looked and smelled like I was drinking a salad. I think he was having a hard time getting past the green color. And the fact that there were three different kinds of greens: kale, spinach, and romaine.

Oh, and don’t forget the cucumber. And apple. And lemon.

Okay. So, I am drinking a salad. It just doesn’t taste the way you’d expect. More sweet, less chewing, and surprisingly filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped kale
  • 3 large romaine leaves
  • 1/2 cup baby spinach
  • 2 inch cut of cucumber
  • 1 granny smith apple, seeds and stems removed
  • 1 lemon, rind and seeds removed

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into a juicer and juice!
  2. Pour into favorite glass.
  3. Sip away.
