Life is full of change, big and small, but growth is optional.

Life is full of change, but growth is optional. | emilylevenson.com

Change is a constant in life. Growth, however, has always been optional. Here are 6 things you can do to stay grounded and make it out to the other side alive. The one constant in my life these days is change. Juuuuuust when I think I’m getting a handle on things, it feels like the rug gets pulled out from under me and something new happens. The Babe learns a new skill, her sleep schedule (and therefor my work schedule) changes on a whim, my body decides it doesn’t tolerate eggs or tomatoes, or … food. With all of this change happening in my life on a regular basis, I’ve...

Go SMALL or go home?

When I’m feeling stuck, bored, or in need of new energy, I gravitate towards big, epic, sweeping changes. Cutting off 12 inches of hair, rearranging every room in my house, purging my entire closet, or even walking away from something I’ve loved and dedicated myself to for years. And that approach has served me well. It has created massive shifts in my life and openings for new things to come my way. But, lately, another way has been presenting itself. Growth is a detox process, as our weakest, darkest places are sucked up to the surface in order to be released. There is just something so powerful about this explanation of growth. Something that really gets to the heart of it; that growth is not always this beautiful, easy process. Growth can be hard, ugly, and terrifying. But once you bring all of the muck...

Good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

"Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." Marilyn Monroe

Every time I come across this quote by Marilyn Monroe, I love her a little bit more. And it’s particularly fitting for this Motivational Monday, because today marks the halfway point for Project: Miracles. The process has been full of insight, transformations, and a little magic. With a touch of frustration thrown in for fun. To my fabulous miracle makers (that means YOU!): change is uncomfortable. It can feel chaotic and miserable; like you are taking two steps back. When, in reality, you are clearing out the junk to make way for the really amazing things to shine through. Keep at it. Know that all of the work you are...
