Don’t be a victim of negative self-talk.

"Don't be a victim of negative self-talk. Remember—you are listening!" Bob Proctor

I came across this nugget from Bob Proctor on Pinterest. “Don’t be a victim of negative self-talk. Remember—you are listening!” It was linked to a really great article from Marc and Angel Hack Life. Like most things in my life, it has come at the exact right time. I’ve been focusing a lot on the negative side of things—how much my back hurts, how little I’ve been able to accomplish each day (you know, because keeping an infant ALIVE is minor…), and how tired I am. The negative crap running through my brain has made it really hard to enjoy the things that I am accomplishing each day (showering! getting...

Wherever you are, be all there.

"Wherever you are, be all there." Jim Elliot

(Image Source: Abby Hyslop) Loving this quote from Jim Elliot (and illustration from Abby Hyslop): Wherever you are, be all there. It’s not the first time I’ve heard it, nor the first time it’s felt meaningful, but it’s definitely something that is sticking with me as we await the arrival of Baby Levenson. I want to make sure that with everything that comes my way—through labor, delivery, and the first everything with this baby and beyond—that I am all there. Taking in every detail. And just being all in. No multi-tasking. No wishing I were somewhere else. No feeling guilty about not doing work. Just enjoying every second spent with...

The sky’s not the limit.

"The limit is not in the sky. The limit is in the mind." Unknown

(Image Source: ProGood) This seems like a harmless feel-good quote at first glance. And then, BOOM. It’s all up in your face. Deep and piercing. The only thing that’s holding us back…is us. The things we tell ourselves. The thoughts that swirl through our brains. The chatter and mental clutter that is just taking up space. Feeling stuck? Take a look at your thoughts, and the kind of things you’ve been telling yourself. You just may be surprised....

Monday Motivation: Inspire Someone Today.

Inspire someone today.

Love this sentiment today from Lena Hanzel. Makes me wonder how differently I would go about my day if this thought were at the forefront. Would I behave differently? Would I treat people differently? Would I have more patience, love, and kindness to dole out with each interaction? Or, would I simply continue to do what I do? How would you act if your goal each and every day was to inspire someone?...

We either make ourselves miserable or strong.

“We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.” Carlos Castaneda

Have you ever noticed that some people go through a situation and come out of it stronger, wiser, and more motivated than ever? And the next day or week, you see another person going through the same thing and they are completely and utterly miserable. Cursing the world for their bad luck, blaming themselves for an inherent flaw, and just getting more down and depressed with every second. I have witnessed far too many of these scenarios in the past month to think that this quote by Carlos Castaneda showing up in my life was anything but intentional. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of...
