10 haikus about the best and worst motherhood has to offer

There are so many
days that I wish I could stop
time and hold you tight.

The sleepless nights and
early mornings make me long
for our childless days.

I love you so much
that my heart feels like it will
explode on the regular.

I’m beginning to
hate the words “Mama, up please!”
because of what’s next.

Your smile is the best
thing about my day. Always.
And so is your laugh.

Loving you is the
easiest and hardest thing
I have ever done.

The constant messes
and cleaning and saying no
are so exhausting.

Cleaning, cleaning, it’s
all I do. Day in and day
out. When will it end?

You are a gift. A
precious gift that keeps getting
better with each day.

I long for the day
when I can use the bathroom
without company.
