I’m pretty sure ranunculus are at the top of the list when it comes to favorite flowers. Second only to dahlias and peonies. Which are equally as beautiful and aromatic.
The shapes and colors are simply stunning and make me smile whenever I see them.
So it felt like sweet serendipity when a van from Goose Creek Gardens pulled into the alley next to us while I was having tea with My Mama and a friend at Arnold’s Tea in the Northside. The van was filled to the brim with bunch after bunch of the most gorgeous ranunculus I’ve ever seen.
Oranges, pinks, purples, and peaches.
My eyes were darting back and forth between the beauty of each bunch.
The driver noticed us lusting after his flowers and offered to sell us whatever we wanted, as he had just made his last delivery and would be going on vacation. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was one of the toughest decisions I’ve had to make in a long time, but I managed to choose two of the most perfect bunches of ranunculus he had.
I could have chosen one of every color he had.
And it would have been the most stunning collection of flowers ever.
That are now sitting in my dining room and filling it with the most beautiful reminder of how amazing it feels to be in the right place at the right time.
Bonus: I also go to see where The Farmer’s Daughter calls home, and I plan to stop in there the very next time I need an extra dose of beautiful in my life.
