The Mellow Yellow Smoothie

I straight up didn’t get the chance to photograph this one, let alone take a sip, before The Babe grabbed it out of my hands and began to ooh and ahh over it.

She was enamored by the color and couldn’t wait to put the straw in and slurp it up. Admittedly, I felt the same way about it, but was able to show a bit more restraint. I guess that’s what happens when you become an adult.

Either that, or I’m a total sucker and can’t say no to my kid.

Next time, I’ll just make a double batch so that there won’t have to be any back and forth about who gets to drink it and when. And by back and forth, I totally mean The Babe throwing a tantrum because SHE wants it, and me giving in while grumbling to myself about what a goddamn saint I am for giving up my breakfast to make my baby happy.

I’m kidding.

Sort of.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks fresh or frozen
  • 1 navel orange peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 banana fresh or frozen
  • 1/4-1/2 cup water almond milk, orange juice, and/or ice

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients into a blender.
Pulse 5-6 times so that fruit begins to mix.
    Blend on high until smooth.
If using, add liquid to thin or ice to thicken up and make colder.
Put a straw in it and GO. TO. TOWN.

Notes

You may or may not need any extra liquid in this one, it just depends on how juicy your orange is. I would suggest starting to blend without it and then adding it in slowly as necessary.
