The Devil Made Me Do It.

It’s Saturday, I’m enjoying a few Joe Joe’s (yeah, totally fell off the wagon), and am binge-watching Lucifer.

All I can say is, holy hell Is this show fun.

It’s mythological. It’s funny. And Lucifer has a brilliant accent. (Those Brits get me every time.)

Other things I love about the show:

  • Lucifer is having an existential crisis. (Something I know a little something about.)
  • He is “working” with a therapist to help him uncover parts of himself. Those scenes are some of my favorite.
  • I seriously love the references to Jedi Mind Tricks and the way that they poke fun of mythology while still having it be a serious plot line.
  • The question, what do you most desire in life. Even though Lucifer uses it to get people to tell him their deep, dark secrets, it’s a seriously poignant question. I will be thinking on that one for a while. It actually reminds me the seemingly simple question from The Untethered Soul*, who are you? (No, really. Who are you? The voice in your head, the one who hears the voice, or someone else altogether?)

I’m a little sad that I won’t be able to finish all 9 episodes today.
