When people say nice things and completely make your day.

Today has been an up and down kind of day.

But amidst the craziness of a whiny toddler full of boogies, migrating emails to a different platform, and afternoon mood swings (mine, not The Babe’s), there were a few positives that I am savoring.

First, I had a delicious breakfast date with a friend. We talked about business and life, and it was inspiring and soul-satisfying on so many levels. I love when good people do great things for the amazing women in my world. Also, there were some ZOMGood gluten-free waffles involved, which made this picky and frustrated-with-food lady very very happy.

Then, there was time spent with The Babe in Ft. Snuggles (what we have taken to calling snuggling under the covers in bed), complete with snuggles (duh), tickles, and lots and lots of kisses. It was so good, in fact, that The Babe kept yelling MORE KISSES. And I was more than happy to oblige. If you’ve never been to Ft. Snuggles, I highly encourage it. Toddlers optional, of course.

I also got the most lovely Facebook message from my favorite Swede saying how much she’s been enjoying my posts and how I’ve been inspiring her to want to do the same. High praise from someone who’s opinion I value a lot.

Those were my (much need and much appreciated) nuggets of awesome today.

Before I sat down to write this post, I was feeling angry and annoyed because Gmail wasn’t cooperating with my attempts at adding a “Send Email As” account. I was super frustrated and feeling like I could flip a table with the angst.

After writing this, however, I feel way better. Amazing how the simple act of focusing on the positives can totally turn things around. Now if I could only remember that the next time I’m feeling frustrated and out of sorts…
